Statement ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Echoi is an ensemble of young soloists dedicated to exploring the notion of what “classical music” has become in our time, through involvement with individual works and artists with intriguingly singular voices from across the world. Since the beginning of the 20th century, Western art music has increasingly diversified its spheres of influence, resulting in a bewildering expansion of style, concept, and presentation. Through our programming, we hope to reconcile these vastly different perspectives and convey the essential vitality of music today. In designing our concerts, we aspire to present each piece in an aesthetically compatible and thought-provoking context.
